Naturally wild, naturally fun! |
The Marion County Park District has used more than $880,000 in grants, in kind donations, and local matching funds to purchase the land for a rail-trail, build a trailhead building, pave a parking lot, and begin to develop the first mile. For 2017 we still need to raise about $15,000 in local matching funds, and we also need to set aside funds for future maintenance of the trail.
There are several ways that you can help:
1) Make a tax-deductable donation to the Prairie Parks Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 foundation set up to receive tax-deductible donations to help the Marion County Parks. Donations can be designated for specific uses. For more information, contact Dan Sheridan at (740)-389-4146, or mail your donation to 2) Make a secure on-line donation to the Prairie Parks Foundation, a non-profit foundation set up to receive tax-deductible donations to help the Marion County Parks, via this link.
