The Caledonia Nature Preserve consists of 37 wooded acres, located on the east side of the Olentangy River just north of the village of Caledonia.
The majority of this preserve is at present inaccessible to the public. Access is blocked by the river, railroad property, and by farm fields. A historic bowstring bridge crosses the river to the park, but this bridge is barricaded because it is not safe, even for pedestrians. The cost of repairing the bridge for park access is prohibitive (about $700,000).
A smaller section of the preserve is located south of the railroad tracks, and is accessible to the public. |
